St. Paul's Altar

About St. Paul's Church

St. Paul’s is a congregation of the Lutheran Church – Missouri Synod. Here the saints of God gather in reverence, joy, and thanksgiving to hear and receive our Lord Jesus in His Word and Sacraments. The Divine Service is held every Sunday morning, Wednesday evening, and on special occasions for feasts and festivals throughout the church’s calendar. Bible study, catechesis, and instruction are offered in many settings throughout the year. Sunday School for children and Adult Bible Class take place at 9:30 a.m. on Sunday mornings in between services. “Oh, taste and see that the Lord is good! Blessed is the man who takes refuge in him!”

The Divine Service

Our congregation uses the Lutheran Service Book to structure our worship of the crucified and risen Lord. We confess our sins before Him and receive His forgiveness from the minister, as from God Himself. We hear His Word proclaimed and from it learn how to live a sanctified life. We receive the true Body and Blood of Jesus under the forms of bread and wine and give thanks to The Lord for all his benefits to us. We sing hymns which proclaim the truth of the Holy Scriptures with depth and clarity.

Catechesis

“All Scripture is breathed out by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, and for training in righteousness, that the man of God may be complete, equipped for every good work.” The Holy Scriptures are the only source and norm of all theology. Therefore the Scriptures must be the light unto our path and the lamp unto our feet. Therefore what God inspired by the Holy Spirit in the Old and New Testament are at the heart of all our learning, whether it be in Sunday Morning Bible Study, Sunday School for the children, Confirmation classes, or the various other studies which take place during the week.
